Simple Machines Forum: How to update the CleanTalk Anti-Spam Modification
Manual Update
- Make backup copies of your forum files and database.
- Go to SMF Administrator Panel —> Admin —> Package Manager.
- Then go to Main —> Package Manager —> Browse Packages —> find "Anti-Spam by CleanTalk" mod in the "Modification Packages" list —> click the link [ Uninstall ].
- Press the button "Uninstall Now" on the next page to confirm uninstall process.
- After a successful uninstall, go back to the "Browse Packages" page.
- Find the "Anti-Spam by CleanTalk" mod in the "Modification Packages" list again and click the link [ Delete ].
- Download the modification archive from CleanTalk (the link is at the beginning of this page or use the link given to you personally), place it in "/Packages".
- Go back to the "Browse Packages" page and refresh it. The mod "Anti-Spam by CleanTalk" should appear in the "Modification Packages" list. Click the link [ Install Mod ].
- Confirm installation of the mod on the next page by clicking the button "Install Now".
- After successful installation you should be automatically redirected to the CleanTalk Mod's settings page. It if didn't happen, then go to SMF Administrator Panel —> Admin —> Package Manager —> Configuration —> Modification Settings.
- Find the "Anti-Spam by CleanTalk Mod settings" table, set the mod up, make sure that the access key matches the key from your CleanTalk Dashboard. Then press the button "Save".
- (Optional) Test the protection by making a registration using the blacklisted e-mail stop_email@example.com.
