Drupal 7: How to update the CleanTalk Anti-Spam Module
Automatic Update
- Make sure that "Update manager" is enabled: Drupal Admin Page —> Modules —> CORE —> tick "Update manager" —> Save configuration.
- Go to Modules —> UPDATE —> tick "Anti-Spam by CleanTalk" —> Download these updates.
- Press "Continue" on the "Ready to update" page.
- Click the line "Run database updates" on the next page.
- Press "Continue" on the "Drupal database update" page.
- Press "Apply pending updates" on the next page if there are any.

Manual Update

- Go to Modules —> LIST, find the OTHER section, remove the tick in the ENABLED column opposite the "Anti-Spam by CleanTalk" name and press the button "Save configuration".
- Go to Modules —> UNINSTALL, choose "Anti-Spam by CleanTalk" and press the button "Uninstall". Confirm it by pressing the button "Uninstall" again on the next page.
- Delete the folder "cleantalk" in "/sites/all/modules".
- Download the plugin archive from CleanTalk (the link is at the beginning of this page or use the link given to you personally), place it in "/modules".
- Go to Modules —> LIST and press the string "+ Install new module".
- Choose the downloaded CleanTalk archive in "/modules", then press the button "Install".
- After the process of installation press the line "Enable newly added modules".
- In the "OTHER" category find the "Anti-Spam by CleanTalk" module, tick the checkbox in the ENABLED column and press the button "Save configuration".
- When you enable the module, the string "Configure" appears in the OPERATIONS column. Click it.
- Make sure that the access key matches the key from your CleanTalk Dashboard.
- (Optional) Test the protection by making a registration using the blacklisted e-mail stop_email@example.com.
